Weekly wrap – Commencing Thursday 28 May 2020

At long last there feels like a few things to list this week.  Let’s hope all goes well.

At Villa Lanka (St 282) this evening, Artur Tomaszewski performs traditional old style jazz and blues guitar.    Also tonight, The Extraordinary Chambers return to their Thursday night residency at Oscar’s on the Corner.

Farm to Table continue their virtual Acoustic Friday series with a Facebook Live performance from the Sidewalk Cellist, Clara Shandler from 6.30 pm – and a second set live only.   Tune in from your living room.

The Oscar’s on the Corner house band K’n’E, featuring the sensational Srey Ka and Ratha, return to the stage for Friday and Saturday night from 10 pm.

Sssessionsss at Botanico, brought to you by Botanico in collaboration with Leng Pleng, pops up on Saturday evening:  keep an eye open here.  A late show send up format, a lighthearted response to these times, with music and special guests.

Botanico continue their Saturday night programme with Blues Routes with Colin Grafton and Pavel Ramirez, at the usual time of 7 pm.

On Sunday the Sundowner Sessions continue at Tacos Kokopelli from 5 pm, while the open mic jam at Sharky Bar is back on, at the earlier time of 8 pm.

Space Four Zero on St 240 ½ has new stock of the Cambodian artists/Iggy Pop compilation album Angkor Pop in limited edition pink vinyl.  Features Kampot Playboys, The Schkoots, MC Lisha, Doch Chkae and many more.  Check it out here.

A couple of Cambodian music related interviews popped up over the last week – DJ Kaza on industrial techno and Nightmare AD for metal.
