Good news this week with the return of the open jam at Ege Bar in Tuol Tom Pong, from the slightly earlier time of 8 pm. Later The Extraordinary Chambers kick off a week of great music at Oscar’s on the Corner.
Once again Friday night’s show by Intan Andriana and Friends in their Jazz and the City series at new venue Italian restaurant Green Pepper on Friday night is sold out. Elsewhere though you can find Antonio and Gerard at Farm to Table, Aguita de Coco at Est Bar, and The Sock Essentials at Tacos Kokopelli. Going on late at Oscar’s on the Corner is the house band K’n’E.
On Saturday at Botanico, Metta and Intan join forces for the early show, while Oscar’s on the Corner presents the official return of the much missed Cambodia Country Band, who will also be back to their Monday night residency next week.
On Sunday the Sundowner Sessions continue at Tacos Kokopelli from 5 pm, while the open mic jam at Sharky Bar is back on, at the earlier time of 8 pm, and K’n’E wind out the weekend at Oscar’s on the Corner.
Note that given the reopening of many music venues, this week LengPleng has undertaken an overhaul of the Regular Gigs section for a massive update. This is where you will find most residencies and open mics that are not generally listed in the Latest Gigs section.
Looking into the future, a big weekend coming up out of town. In Siem Reap, The Harbour will host The Schkoots on Friday 19, and five bands and a DJ for World Music Day on Saturday 20. In Kampot on Saturday 20, The Longest Day Festival will feature the Kampot Playboys, DJs and more.
