Weekly wrap – Thursday 29 July 2021

Well, what a bummer.  Things were looking up.  But with a 9 pm curfew and a return to take-away only it seems all gigs are off for the next two weeks at least.  Should anything change LengPleng will keep as up to date as we can.

Your last chance, before midnight tonight, is to sample from the following:

  • jam session Bosporus (the Cloud open mic has been cancelled)
  • Intan & Friends at The Attic at the Hyatt Regency
  • Kiss Bang Bong at Lantern Rooftop Bar

Livestreaming on Friday evening, 6 pm, from the Music Arts School Facebook page is a virtual classical concert by Metta Legita and Clara Shandler.

In other news, over on Facebook, the long running Phnom Penh Musician’s [sic] Collective page, for many years admin-less and spam-attracting, has been replaced by a brand new page for announcements and a brand new group for discussions and sharing.

Being housebound in the evenings, why not check out what’s on offer from the cheerful and morale boosting voices emanating from  RadioOun.com?  Or delve into the On Demand menu to enjoy replays of shows at your leisure.

Revisiting the new releases

Another month, another Professor Kinski remix EP: Born-A-Rebel versus Professor Kinski.  Six tracks, 31 minutes, and on Bandcamp, name your price.  Born-A-Rebel is a Nu Metal band from Berlin led by one Tim Oliver Lindberg.  Big Beats, Drum ‘n’ Bass & Breakbeat spiced with heavy guitar riffs and sharp cutting political rap.

And don’t forget Hey Miss Clementine, a new song by singer-songwriter Gone Marshall now available on Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal and all other platforms is.  Check out his previous releases on his website.
