Slam City 2025 metal festival continues tonight, Thursday, at Atlantis in Siem Reap, before heading to Phnom Penh for Friday at Noisy Chili and Saturday at Cloud.  Check out our coverage of this week’s shows in the north from guest writer Kim Beamish below.

Quieter in Phnom Penh on Friday find Mirasol, Mika & George at Craft, Frankie Teardrop Dead at The Tin Hat, Acoustic Soul Brothers at Botanico, Agent P & The Resistance at Tacos Kokopelli and Muxu at The Box OfficeMiss Sarawan at Bat Muk Yu, Smack the Unicorn are at Hometown Hangout and The Blue Souls are at Oscar’s on the Corner.  In Siem Reap, Poca & the Sticky Tentacles are at Laundry.

On Saturday in Phnom Penh, Escape Festival features Intan Andriana & Friends, Summer Lee Carlson & Mute Speaker, Bustaka Band and DJs, then later on Frankie Teardrop Dead are at Craft and The Originals Sessions, featuring Greg Beshers, Sleepin’ Tom and The Fallen Apples, is at The DeckKora Sunya is at Botanico, The Lazy Drunks are at Bat Muk Yu, Bassac Brass Quintet at Au Marche, Bona Thiem is followed by The Substitutes at Bassac Square, Zakk Zoot is at Hometown Hangout and Montra are at Oscar’s on the Corner.  On the coast, La Union are at The Wave: Kep West and Wooden Bridge are at Madi Bar, while Jon Williams (UK) is at Mex’d Up in Siem Reap.

Kim Beamish reports on People Die At The Fair, Rabies and Dummy Toys performing in the Siem Reap leg of Slam City 2025 this week.

A brutal hangover, an early flight, and the oppressive Cambodian heat—it’s the perfect storm for a night of metal. I arrive at Atlantis Metal Bar in Siem Reap, a dark, intimate venue that feels more like a Tokyo basement than a Southeast Asian dive. The reason for my visit? A Swiss hardcore band with a name as cryptic as their sound – People Die at the Fair – gearing up for an early sound check ahead of their set at Slam City 2025.
