Passing Chords – a few things you may not know about

Do you have a pet musical hate/pet peeve?
Musicians that come to learn the songs at the rehearsal instead of being prepared, sometimes i do it myself…sorry everyone!
A private musical indulgence:
Face-melting brutal death metal.
The year you first came to Cambodia:
2024. I came here for a week, went to the Laundry bar open mic session, fell in love with the community and now here we are!
An early music memory:
The first time I ever listened to extreme metal was through a various artists album or mix back when, you know, music was not as accessible as it is right now. I remember it was a cover of a black metal band called… no. It was a cover of a song by Accept by a black metal band called Dimmu Borgir. The song was called Metallheart. At the time, I was at the conservatory – I spent whopping three months there – learning classical music, and I was impressed by a solo that just had the same feel as classical music, but with a bunch of distortion. I think at the time, I was twelve, and it was the coolest thing I’ve ever heard in my entire life. And since then, I basically stopped playing classical music, and I started playing cooler classical music, so to say.
The last thing you had to eat:
Awesome beef dumplings from Galaxy store.
Stagefright – yes or no?
Yes, if there is more than 100 people in the audience.
A country you want to visit:
Currently I’m really interested in visiting Japan, the scene there seems incredible. Also Brussels has a great scene, but that’s a little far from Siem Reap.
A book or movie you keep going back to:
Whiplash. The writing mistakes when it comes to the details are always a good laugh, and it also reminds me of a time where getting better at music felt like a matter of life or death.
What languages do you have?
I speak English, French and Arabic, as well as 33.55% Serbina.
Your primary instrument, and when you started playing it:
Guitar, started playing at the age of 11.
Something people might be surprised to know about you:
I do not like or listen to Pink Floyd, sorry not sorry.
You have a time machine and a magic ticket to one gig or festival in the past. What do you choose?
I would go for North Sea Jazz Festival and watch the late D’angelo.
A question from the last participant: the music that you are making right now, what colour is it?
Bright green with a yellow hue, can be very purple at times.
