Weekend highlights ***for full gig listings jump to the bottom***

If you’re getting things flowing early this Thursday evening in Phnom Penh, The Busking Kings will be in front of Front Bar, later on Gareth Bawden & Pervez are at Botanico, and even later The Extraordinary Chambers as usual are at Oscar’s on the Corner.  In Siem Reap Jam-Cha play Villa D.

On Friday night  November Band are at Botanico@Odom Garden, The Broken Cymbal are at Craft and Mirasol Aguila & James Atkinson play Le Vin.  Later and louder there’s K’n’E at Oscar’s on the Corner.  In Kampot, Roberto Salgado hosts the open mic at Karma Traders, and Geography of the Moon descend on The Playground.  In Siem Reap, Paul Mackie is at Pasta La Vista and Son Sabor Latin Trio are at AMBAR.

There’s a big Saturday night brewing in Tuol Tom Pong with the Samstock Festival featuring Visa Runners, Platitudes, David Glasper and Criztian Solo at Sam’s, while Rob Narciso is at The Birdcage Boutique. Chor Yee is at Botanico, Arome Khmer are at Craft, there’s a Hank Williams tribute night at The Box Office with Clay George & Joe Wrigley, and Havana Nice are at Back Street Bar.  Later in the evening the Uncomfortably White Brothers play a farewell show with K’n’E following at Oscar’s on the Corner.  In Siem Reap, Jam-Cha play Arin’s and in Kep Graham Cain is at Kep Natural.

Looking into next week Geography of the Moon will be playing on Tuesday at Karma Traders in Kampot.

Ticks in the win column – the bowing out (for now) of the Uncomfortably White Brothers

This weekend sees the (another) last stand of a band that was truly of its time, a time that has come and now gone, at once timely and timeless, in time and out of time.  LengPleng invited the Uncomfortably White Brothers onto its balcony office for an exit interview.

LP: The last time the Uncomfortably White Brothers were featured in LengPleng was in August of 2019.

EB: Wow, heady days, eh?

GB: Wait – why has it been so long since LengPleng has given us a feature?

LP: There was some coverage of your previous farewell gig in Kampot, remember, a few months ago.  But the middle of 2019 were innocent days even for the Uncomfortably White Brothers.

EB: They were.
