Greetings and happy new year to all:
It’s a big Khmer new year live music celebration at The Deck in Phnom Penh this weekend, with Khmer Blind Band and Friends on Saturday and Miss Sarawan and Laro Bustaka Boys on Sunday. Similarly at 1960 Restaurant in Kampot, starting on Saturday with Barang Barang, continuing on Sunday with Summer Lee Carlson & Mute Speaker, and finishing on Monday with Laro Bustaka Boys.
On the road from Phnom Penh this week is Alli G, who will be in Kampot hosting the Jampot open mic at Karma Traders on Friday, then playing at Yellow Star on Saturday and The Bay on Sunday. Also travelling is Lisa Concepcion who will play at You&Me Resort on Koh Rong on Saturday and Sunday.
In Phnom Penh on Thursday, find Miss Sarawan & Scoddy at Tacos Kokopelli, Blue Wave at Little Susie, Mosaic at Samai Rum Distillery and later on The Extraordinary Chambers at Oscar’s on the Corner. In Kampot, Kora Sunya is at Ariart.
On Friday in Phnom Penh, Silver & Taylor are at Craft, Ice is at Botanico and Antonio & the Playful Minds are at The Tin Hat, while The Lark go late at Oscar’s on the Corner. In Kampot, Barang Barang are at KAPAL, and in Siem Reap there’s the regular open mic at Mex’d Up.
On Saturday in Phnom Penh Miss Sarawan & Scoddy are at Lantern, is at Vartey Ganiva at Back Street Bar and Fender Benders are at Oscar’s on the Corner. In Kampot, Nico Thoma is at TopSpin and Playing Mantis are at KAPAL.
Come Sunday find Cardboard Li-Fi at The Vine, Arome Khmer at Bat Muk Yu, Joe Wrigley at Bar Oz and The Extraordinary Chambers at Oscar’s on the Corner. In Kampot, Kampot Playboys are at KAPAL.
