Tonight in Siem Reap Atlantis hosts Metal Madness 2024, featuring Chimera Cult (Shanghai), Gargoyles in  the Night Wasteland (Hanoi), Soulitude (Shanghai), After God (Phnom Penh) and Doch Chkae (Phnom Penh). Elsewere tonight Summer Lee Carlson & Mute Speaker are at The Bay and The Lark are at Oscar’s on the Corner.

In Phnom Penh on Friday Bustaka Boys are at Craft, Arome Khmer 4 are at Vinoteca, Melody & Joe are at Bat Muk Yu, Antonio & the Playful Minds are at Back Street Bar and Cardboard Li-Fi are at Noisy Chili.  Later on the blues of Jeffro & Chi-Town return to Oscar’s on the Corner.

Saturday in Phnom Penh find Alli G’s Rockustic at Back Street Bar, Gerry the Cosmic Joker at Lost Bar & Grill and The Lazy Drunks at Oscar’s on the Corner.  In Kampot, Packo’s Busking Kings are at First Bar and Frankie Teardrop Dead at The Bay, while Fishtix are at Kep Natural.  In Siem Reap, Vort-X are at Arin’s.

On Sunday Au Marche hosts a Latin jazz brunch with Limontuno – first set 1.30 pm and second set 6 pm.  Also find Miss Sarawan & Scoddy poolside at Villa Grange, Clay George at The Vine and the Sunday Sundowners open mic hosted by Scott Bywater at Tacos Kokopelli. Later, Arome Khmer are at Back Street Bar, The Lost Girls are at Lost Bar & Grill and Electric Muxu Orchestra are at Oscar’s on the Corner.

In the department of Coming Soon – a new album from Geography of the Moon this week (tomorrow!!), concerts by both Musica Felice and Phnom Penh Choral Ensemble later this month, the 21st annual Phnom Penh International Music Festival 2024 this year highlighting Eastern European musical heritage, not to mention a 1974 tribute night at Oscar’s on the Corner and the Nesat Market Festival at New Year’s Eve.  And also a November tour by frequent visitors to Cambodia Australian band Plan B – they’re in Vietnam for a bunch of gigs and then heading here for an appearance at the LOLA Music Lounge open mic on November 21, followed by gigs at Hometown Hangout, Duplex, The Waterside, Kep Natural and Queenco Hotel & Casino in Sihanoukville.  Plenty to look forward to as high season beckons.

Music pillar Phil Javelle vehemently helping out with celebrations for Little Susie‘s fourth anniversary, 2 October 2024.  Phil will be leading Limontuno, a Latin jazz outfit featuring Leo and Darvel, for two hour-long sets (1.30 pm and 6 pm) at Au Marche this Sunday, 6 October.
