Greetings,
Today is your last chance to vote in the inaugural Khmer Nights Live Band of the Year poll – a wide range to choose from: show the love for your favourite musicians and be in the running for prizes!
Tonight, Thursday, The Blue Souls make a return to the stage at Trattoria Bello, visiting jazz singer Melissa Lesnie joins Phil Javelle & Friends at Elephant Bar, and The Extraordinary Chambers are back in their Thursday night residency at Oscar’s on the Corner. Plus all the regular Thursday night gigs.
In Phnom Penh Friday starts early at 6.30 pm with a quieter set from Geography of the Moon at Odom Gardens and Tito at Cloud. Bosporus hosts Reggae Knights and K’n’E goes late at Oscar’s on the Corner. Son Sabor Trio plays The Harbour in Siem Reap.
In a rather thin Saturday night Aguita E’Coco are at Duplex, Takeshi Band are at Central Café and Geography of the Moon get loud at Oscar’s on the Corner. In Siem Reap, Lucky, Rod & Chris are at Arin’s.
Sundays have recently got busy with regular gigs now running at Bar Oz in the afternoon, Sunday Sundowners continuing at Tacos Kokopelli into the evening, plus Little Susie, Harry’s and Rokku, concluding with ladies night at Oscar’s on the Corner with Joe & the Jumping Jacks.
Notable next week at Sunset Boulevard in Tuol Tom Pong is the inaugural meeting of Guitar Club, hosted by Arone Silverman, a chance for players to meet, swap licks and stories. BYO guitar and amp.

A Leng Pleng Special Feature
In case you missed it on New Year’s Eve, the Radio Oun (formerly Kampot Radio) Top 100 Songs Of All Time poll came in with a massive vote of confidence in the local scene’s performers, with 23 of the top 35, and 35 of the top 50 being Cambodian related acts. As a special feature LengPleng presents the list here, with some comments from the three top placegetters: Ernie Buck, ZyctDan and Joshua Chiang.
The Leng Pleng Weekly Feature
Music is our life: what Geography of the Moon have been up to
Geography of the Moon are back in Cambodia, but just where have they been and what have they been up to since we saw them last? LengPleng intrepidly asks Andrea and Virginie these and other questions.
Virginie: From October, then started to reopen in May, June, then finished opening fully in July. So we had almost a year and a half with two months break in between. Being on your own too long is really difficult. There’s a reason why solitary confinement is one of the worst punishments.

If there are things that you know that LengPleng should know, please tell us and we’ll do our best to tell the world.
See you around the traps.
