Passing Chords – a few things you may not know about

Aisha (Pinnat Chan Chorda). Aisha is a rising young Khmer singer equally comfortable singing in English and Khmer. At present you can catch her performing with Shaken Spirit at Oscar’s on the Corner on Sunday nights, as well as frequent performances in duo format at Little Susie. She is our 200th Passing Chords profilee.
Do you have a pet musical hate/pet peeve?
When people don’t listen to each other while playing together. It’s always about the connections on stage for me and knowing the right people to work together with ..
A private musical indulgence:
Listening to some relaxing soundtracks or music.. watching some good video performances.. practicing my skills of confidence on stage ..
An early music memory
When I was young, during high school, I had already found I enjoyed being in spotlight, singing to all of my classmates. I feel pretty damn good about the gift of the voice I was born with. I will never stop singing.
The last thing you had to eat:
A big home-cooked meal full of protein, seafood and vegetables, that I to enjoyed with my beloved closest people, with a table of the joy and laughter.
Stagefright – yes or no?
Yes, a little. But once I start playing, I feel much better. Also I realise a little confidence can really make me less worried about what people would think about me.
A country you want to visit:
China
What languages do you have?
Khmer and English.
Your primary instrument, and when you started playing it:
I never played any instrument before.
Something people might be surprised to know about you:
I’m actually quite shy when I first meet people. But I always smile and say hello
You have a time machine and a magic ticket to one gig or festival in the past. What do you choose?
I would love to see Michael Jackson and Queen perform live at Wembley Stadium.
A question from the last participant: What instrument would you like to learn next?
I would like to learn the piano.
