Another thin weekend as low season settles in, but recording and releasing continues apace.  Looking forward to next Wednesday, young Khmer band Vanocean launch their new album Depress at Cloud. Also, young Khmer rapper VannDa has this week followed up his single of last year, Time to Rise, with a new album: Skull 2 (Season 1), featuring the single Young Man, a collaboration with Thai rapper Og Bobby.  Check out coverage in this VICE interview and this short piece in the Cambodia Daily.

On Friday Geography of the Moon are at Craft, Boxchords play Cloud, Hugo is at La Petanque and Yes Band are at DuplexLater and louder, K’n’E are at Oscar’s on the CornerIn Kampot, Arom Dontrey play 1960.

Then on Saturday Disability Band celebrate two years of performance at Boran House, visitors Nestor & Lily are at Bouchon Wine Bar, while Esther Mao & Phil Javelle team up at Central Café.  Further afield, Krousa are at The Welsh Consulate TTP (cancelled due to illness), Woody Dares is at The Glasshouse, Junrockz Balagan plays Duplex and K’n’E are at Oscar’s on the Corner.   In Siem Reap, Batbangers return to Pomme.

Come Sunday, Scott Bywater and Virginia Bones are at The Vine, Graham Cain kicks off a Phnom Penh mini-tour at The Box Office and Gareth Bawden is guest host of the Sunday Sundowners open mic at Tacos Kokopelli.  Taking it later are Joe & the Jumping Jacks at Oscar’s on the Corner.
