Thursday in Phnom Penh kicks off with the jazz jam with Dr George at Tape Deck, while the Echo Terminal jam session at Factory Phnom Penh has it’s last iteration for this season. For more jazz check out Level 21 Swing (Intan, Sharon, Christophe & Gaby) at Vertigo Sky Bar, while Stu Cottom is followed by Kevin Sysyn at Excelsior and Cocofunk are at Sabada. Later The Extraordinary Chambers are at Oscar’s on the Corner.
Friday evening in Phnom Penh The Fallen Apples (Mirasol and Gaby) are at Hunt, Alli G is at Botanico, Cardboard Lo-Fi are at The Tin Hat, One Year Visa are at Khmer Funk Sky Bar, Line & Damani are at End of the Road and Punch Drunk are at Distortion Dive Bar. Later, ska band Checkered Past return to Oscar’s on the Corner. On the coast, Sinville Roadshow are at Old Market Skybar in Kampot, and in in Siem Reap Rod & Koko are at The Panthers Hut.
On Saturday Lee County Ramblers celebrate Dolly Parton at Tape Deck, Sinville Roadshow are at Motodop, One Year Visa are at Botanico and John is at Samai Rum Distillery. Clay George is at Tropico, Crash Boom Bang are at Duplex, Stu Cottom is at The Phoenix Bar (formerly The Silk Route), and Rom Romvong at Oscar’s on the Corner. In Siem Reap, Jam-Cha are at Laundry.
On Sunday find One Year Visa at Motodop and Dane & Scoddy at The Vine. The Sunday Sundowners open mic at Tacos Kokopelli is hosted by John Memery, Stu Cottom is at Bar Oz, Greg Beshers at Hunt and Shaken Spirit are at Oscar’s on the Corner. In Siem Reap, Kodi Hudson is at Embargo.
Next weekend September heats up with visiting German jazz double bass player Andreas Dehner playing in both Siem Reap and Phnom Penh, the return of The Broken Cymbal, the commencement of a Cambodian tour by local artist Sam Rocker, the return of Japan Guitar Shop, The Originals Sessions featuring Agent P & the Resistance, James Parm and new act Stellar Zhou.
