Thursday night in Phnom Penh find Sticky Tentacles at Motodop and Brett Perkins at Phoenix Bar, alongside the regular jazz jam with Dr George at Tape Deck and open mics at Tropico and Noisy Chili.  Later on, The Extraordinary Chambers are at Oscar’s on the Corner and in Siem Reap Rod Tolentino is at The Pizza Garden.

Friday night in Phnom Penh Frankie Teardrop Dead are at Motodop, The Fallen Apples at Hunt, Zingaros are at Khmer Funk Sky Bar, Christabel is at The Vine and Antonio Elchico is at Botanico.  Two Country Drunks are at new venue Back Street Riverside/River Quay (corner of St 118 and Sisowath), Muz Muskett hosts an open mic at The Tin Hat and John Peter is at End of the Road.  Later and louder, Sticky Tentacles at Oscar’s on the Corner.  In Kampot, the Jampot open mic at Karma Traders is hosted by Torey Heart.  In Siem Reap, One Year Visa are at The Panthers Hut and Rain is at The Pizza Garden.

For something a little different on Saturday, try the Eurovision Asia – Cambodia contest at Aeon Mall Sen Sok.  Or Lisa Concepcion for high tea at Shangri-La, or the Itonami Cultural Studio launch featuring Matsumura Fishworks at Sundown Social Club.  Velvet Compromise are back at Motodop, Miss Sarawan is at Botanico, Mathieu & Friends are at Little Susie and it’s a Basgi di Corsica night at Au Marche with Phil Javelle.  Sticky Tentacles are at Noisy Chili, Crash Boom Bang is at Duplex and Cambodia Country Band are at Oscar’s on the Corner.  On the coast, Voodoo Mamba are at The Wave: Kep West and Rum & Ruckus are at Tiki Garden.  In Siem Reap, Christabel is at The Pizza Garden.

Come Sunday, venture out to Aeon Mall 3 for Bon Odori , a traditional Japanese circle dance and taiko performance.  Also find Two Country Drunks at Motodop and the Sunday Sundowners open mic hosted by Scott Bywater at Tacos Kokopelli.  Chaktomuk Blues Band are at Khmer Funk Sky Bar, Anton Isselhadt and Misato Nakaishi perform Johann Sebastian Bach flute sonatas at Raffles Le Royal, and Greg Beshers is at Hunt.  Later, Pablo Enrique is at Cloud and Shaken Spirit at Oscar’s on the Corner.

Phnom Penh’s SLAM CITY IV metal festival made the front page of metal website Unite Asia this week.  Fang (USA), Round Eye 上海 (CHN) and local acts Jōhatsu, After God, Soselo Summer & Mazama will appear at live at Noisy Chili next weekend.
