Greetings:

Here’s a first: leading off the wrap with a gig in Battambang – The Blue Wave are on tonight at Au Cabaret Vert.  In Phnom Penh find Stu Cottom at Excelsior and The Extraordinary Chambers at Oscar’s on the Corner.  In Siem Reap, Angkor Classique are at Villa D and Giuliano Turello is at Temple Food & Beverage.

In Phnom Penh on Friday, Miss Sarawan are at Lantern and Danny Healy & Metta Legita are at Green Pepper , while Hugo Marcellesi at Craft, Erhan Sezer is at Botanico and Joshua Chiang is at Cloud.  Going late at Oscar’s on the Corner is Montra.   In Siem Reap there’s a cast of thousands of musicians gathering for a special concert – Life of Brin: a celebration of life, love and rock’n’roll at Star Bar (see below) – limited seating available; and there’s an open mic at The Welsh Consulate

In Siem Reap on Saturday, New Leaf celebrate their tenth anniversary with Jam Cha.  In Phnom Penh The Busking Kings are at Front Bar, Phil Javelle is at Little Susie, and Ice & Elle are at Botanico.   You can find Alli G Rockustic at Sundance and later on Khmer Blind Band at Oscar’s on the Corner, while in  the south Bald Gringos are at Kep Natural.

Greg Beshers (The Extraordinary Chambers, Cambodia Country Band, Joe & the Jumping Jacks, Muxu) has this week released a couple of songs written by himself and performed by his California band The Parker Brothers, now available on Bandcamp.

Life of Brin

Friday night’s special event at Star Bar in Siem Reap brings together musicians from all over the country and, of course, all over the world, in celebration of the personage that is Brin Wood – the man out front with such bands as Hollywood Hot Dogs, The Conspiracy Theory and Those Handsome Devils.  Here’s some archival material from the LengPleng vaults – a look at his unlikely duo Boogie Noir in 2019 and his Passing Chords mini-profile from 2020.  See you there.
