Department of High Season: Festivals and Touring

Coming up next weekend for three days of Bom On Touk (Water Festival), Koh Rong Samloeun is transforming itself for Dave Fest.  Alongside acoustic acts and DJs is an impressive list line-up of Phnom Penh alternative bands: Wind Up Mice, Men of Faith, We Are Ewe, Soselo Summer and LDLP.   A wide range of entertainments are offered for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Transport and accommodation package booking information is here.

Another good reason for hitting the road (unless you’re already there) – on Saturday 30 November, 60 Road Studios in Siem Reap present the second annual 60 Road Fest, which will feature a full day of performances – highlights include Blue Strangers, Frankie Teardrop Dead, The Wild Men and Japan Guitar Shop.

At the end of December, Friday 27 and Saturday 28, the second Pepperfest will be held in Kampot.  The line-up features After God, Alli G, Bamboo Train, Bob Passion, Cartoon, Kan, Roberto Salgado and Ricky B.  And then there’s the Nesat Market Festival New Year’s Eve party at Nesat Vilage on 31 December.

Also check out our new LengPleng Visiting Bands Coming Soon listing at the bottom of the page touring bands – this week we add another metal visitor, Defiled (Japan), who will be with us at the end of November.
